    Trailer paint touch up

I has an incident over the weekend where a portion of the metal rail parts of my boat mate trailer is scraped down to the metal. Should I just sand this down and use rustoleum primer and black paint or should I order the DuPont paint from boat mate in a touch up can. What do people think?

Perfect match from boat mate. I just ordered a can from boat mate and it was a perfect patch. My trailer is a blue so much harder to match than a black trailer.

My friend clobbered a short wood post that lines the road away from the ramp with my trailer two weeks ago and punched in the fender below the step area. Really not too noticeable now that I pulled it back out. It chipped some paint so I'm just going to hit it with some spray paint (trailer is black) and go on with my day. However, I did notice my trailer had some rust that is going to need some attention soon where there is some drain holes and welded pieces. It is obvious that water and time are not kind to metal on this trailer, but keeping it touched up is key.

I have an Eagle trailer. People here have talked about them and it is 50/50 (like / dislike). I hate loading and unloading compared to other trailers I have owned, but the trailer fits the boat like a glove and tows very nice. The fact that it fits like a glove is what makes it pain to load and unload. It would help if our ramps were a bit steeper too.

Sorry, not trying to Hi-jack the thread..

Skidave, do you have any pics of your trailer. I have an Eagle as well for my 06 Sante 226 and is the biggest POS, compared to others. Not to mention, their horrible Keel bunks or whatever u call it, is gouging the hull. I'm taking it to Magnum trailer next week for some repairs and hope they can redo some of it.
