So I was going through the process to get my 2005 trailer inspected and the local guy told me I need insurance for just the trailer and my boat insurance wouldn't work. I don't remember having insurance on just the trailer. I plan on going to my dealer and having him do the inspection. I always thought my boat insurance also covered my trailer. I'll post what happens...

I am staring at my ski safe policy i just cancelled and it listed the trailer on it separately. 35K for the boat and $3.5K for the trailer. I would check if you have Skisafe you should be good to go.

I think my boat and trailer are listed separately on my policy at American family.

Physical damage for the trailer is covered by the boat policy as long as the trailer is listed on the policy. The liability coverage for the trailer is provided by the vehicle towing the trailer.
