Keep loosing bearing bras on downhill towing

Once a year we do a long tow trip that requires a 3200 foot pass, on the downhill, the brakes will heat up the grease in the bearing buddies enough to force the grease to start to move and I loose both bearing buddies and grease makes a disgusting mess on the wheels.
Granted, it's good to have plenty of grease in the bearings but, is there a way to keep the bearing buddy bras attached?

Does your trailer have a manual lockout for the brakes to prevent them from engaging? Sometimes on trailers there is a lever you can throw to prevent the tongue from compressing. My DHM trailer has it and I use it to turn off the brakes on long steep down hill grades because my truck is big enough to not need braking assistance from the trailer anyway.

I never had any luck with them. As soon as the plastic heats up they come loose. When the get old they harden and fall off. I remove them on long trips and replace when I get home. Spray degreaser on the bearing buddy before installation may help You may need some to clean the grease off anyway when you get home.

Has anybody tried to convert their grease hubs to oil bath? Just looking at this product.
