I'm borrowing a trailer for a G25. Do they generally use 6 or 7 pole round connectors? Or do they use the 7 way flat rv blade style. I have a flat 4 on my vehicle that i've converted to a flat 5 so I can control the brakes. I can't find a flat 5 male to 6 or 7 pole female adapter. any thoughts? Prefer not to rewire my vehicle but may be headed that way.

Just toss a 7-pin on the vehicle and wire the applicable 5 you need for lights and reverse lock-out, and wire in the other poles if you ever need them for electric brakes. It's worlds easier to find adapters to drop the female 7-pin to something else (flat 4, flat 5 etc.) than to go the other way.

Most boat trailers with brakes have a flat 5. On some trailers it will appear that they have a 7 pin round, but if you follow it back, it is often just an adapter that is plugged into a flat 5. I am sure, like always, there are exceptions to this rule. I would expect that if you have your vehicle wired for flat 5 you should be good.

Every G-series trailer I have ever seen had the 7 Pin round connector (and it was wired directly into the harness, not an adapter). Assuming this is a Ram-Lin or a Boatmate trailer, I can pretty much guarantee it will use this type of plug.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Please note the additional wire on the flat wire harness is a lockout solenoid for backing uphill with surge brakes. The wire is connected to the reverse light circuit of the truck. It does not apply brakes to the trailer. All electric brake systems including electric to hydraulic use a round 6 or 7 wire. the center wire is the backup lights which some tralers do not have.
