    Trailer Coupler Locks

Posted this over on the Nautique FB page as well but figured might as well try here also....

What coupler locks are people using for the Boatmate triple axle G23 trailers? I can’t find a coupler lock big enough to go over it. I tried the heavy duty master lock pictured below but it’s too small. The lock would needs to be around 3.5” tall to fit over the nose of the trailer hitch. Anyone find one that fits / works? If not, what other solutions are people employing to keep these boats from getting stolen (mine was already stolen once from the dealer before I bought it so I’m keen to take serious preventive measures).

If you have a swing tongue on your trailer, you could swing it away and use a nice padlock where the pin normally inserts.

I will do that as well. This is just an extra measure. I do like 3 or 4 locks so they move on to easier prey...

Great locks that are made specifically for each type of coupler. The link below fits my boatmate trailer with 2" XR-84 self latching actuator. These are great and I think the best on the market. I assume thejean your actuator is the 2 5/16 A-160 Actuator......so not sure if they make one for your coupler, but you could ask.

Thanks and I agree. But even their largest one is too small:

I like that Gorilla Guard as well. Fortunately it hasn’t been put to the test, but it’s real easy to use. I use it in conjunction with a padlock on the lever.

Of course if someone really wanted the boat, I’m sure they could find a way to drag it down the road.
