Started a little project on my 1981 Correct Craft 5-T-DV Fish Nautique trailer yesterday.
While I was pulling it to Oklahoma with my old Fish Nautique hull on it, one of the bunks broke completely free from the trailer. Luckily it was just the old junky hull that was on it and not the twin-engine Fish Nautique.
When I got it home, I found that all of the hardware holding the bunks on was completely rusted out. It has only been on there for 37 years!
Yesterday, I pulled all of the bunks off (which involved cutting the hardware with a SawzAll). Surprisingly, the bunks were all in really good condition under the carpet. I did not have to replace the bunks.
I reinstalled all of the bunks with new galvanized hardware.
Now I am working on replacing the bunk carpet. Once that's done, it will look and function like new.
