Boatmate and G23... Is it a but much for trailer?

Anyone having tire wear issues with Boatmate and a G23? Both tires on front axle are cambered in and tires are wearing on inside pretty bad.. When trailer is empty they stand up right. Check the wheel bearings and all seems fair on the front axle (rear is another story). I just wonder if they trailer is heavy enough for the boat.. Any feedback is great thanks. NO the boat is not full of water. I do keep 500 lbs of lead in it but we haul about 5 miles to ramp on most trips. Sometimes we venture off an hour or two but usually its 5 mile ride. Could the extra 500 lbs be doing this?

Now the rear axle one hub is a touch lose but the Buddy cap say hybrid oil no need for service and you cant get to the axle nut without taking caps off.. I guess Ill let dealer look into this...

Yeah I even pulled it on flat surface and put a level on trailer when we first bought it to find the right hitch.

I haven’t seen those issues with my 230, but I will say that I am not impressed with Boatmate at all. The paint job is horrible. Quite a few rust spots within the first year. The touch up paint they sent didn’t match. Looked like a full nail polish. They aren’t great with warranty issues either. I had a weld break and it was like pulling teeth to get it covered. My next trailer will surely be a different brand.

Are you running the dual axle 18's on your trailer? The G23 trailers w/ two axles and 18's are close to the max load rating. With gear and extra ballast you could be over the load limit.

We have the 15's and pull the boat an hour each way multiple times a week for two seasons now on some hot pavement. Tires look great, but admittedly the trailer does look less cool than the ones with the 18's - even though we have every other option on the Boatmate trailer.

Not sure if this is your situation, but I've been pointing out that if you want 18's on a G you should consider the triple axle.

Wow, this is the opposite extreme of my experience with Boatmate. I love my trailer but did have a loading issue as it was an early design. We brought it to their attention and they went WAY above and beyond to take care of me!

Hey blueroom thanks for the link to that discussion... Could be the case but I cant imagine them using different axles. To me it looks like front axle is bent. Ive add a pic to show what I'm seeing. After reading more about Boatmate they seem to have pretty good customer service. Ive submitted a claim to see what they think.

Pic is with a fresh tire. Wore the other tire out on inside and other side is doing the same. Its only bee on sort runs until this season. Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0840.JPG Views:	1 Size:	60.3 KB ID:	562269Sorry about pic..

If someone says boatmates customer service is good they are a liar. Boatmates customer service is not existent in my opinion. I could not even get a return call and if I did get through to a human I was dished off into the voice mail graveyard. My dealer could never get a correct answer either. My first boatmate trailer was taken back, my second had springs that failed... broke apart. The put all this fancy plastic trim and seadek and it rusts underneath.

Boatmate customer service went way above and beyond for me. And supposedly I’m a tough customer,

No vendor is perfect. But unethical practices are where I draw the line.

Malibu, Chessie Marine, Waterski America, Wilson’s Watersports and Poplar Pointe Marine. Unethical organizations with liars, hacks, thieves and folks you can’t trust your money with. Screw folks over for increased profits. Run away or buy a Bayliner before you head to these places.

Boatmate and specifically Daniel Luby do not fall into that category. He’s an honest man and you can trust him with your money. Remain calm and talk to him.

I get it...no disrespect meant. It's just a metaphor for how unhappy I was with their service.

My customer service experience was definitely not good on my most recent trailer purchase. Perhaps not everybody on the Boatmate team is as customer service orientated like Daniel.

                          My Experiences:
I had a trailer ordered for an out of state purchase and I had to reroute my transport company - 3 times and the last cost me $$ because Boatmate failed to deliver as promised and they kept providing incorrect delivery information. Once I was told the trailer was being loaded for delivery the next time that it was on a truck out for delivery. No show either time. I have a list of people who never returned calls or emails and all I was looking for were simple straight answers so I could schedule my shipper, insurance and final payment. Even my dealer was not getting accurate information. After 2 failed deliveries I had 2 different Boatmate employees apologize and tell me they would call me back in 1 and 2 days with information and the following day they closed for a 2 week Christmas break. Hello, did they not know they had off? Why not just tell me?

My my prior trailer had quality issues right out of the gate. My dealer took the first trailer back after the leaf spring flipped over, was fixed, then the opposite side broke. The replacement trailer had 2 bunks that few off on the highway, rust issues on a galvanized trailer in 2 years, a use-less short lighting plug that I had to extend, the guide posts lost their screws and became loose along with with the harness ground wire. All within the first 2 years. I keep my boat on a lift and use the trailer 4-5 times per year.

That is a rough story, I don’t blame you for being frustrated. It’s hard to believe that we have been dealing with the same company!

In my case, I was actually just notifying them of a loading issue that I was having (it was an early generation trailer for my boat) so that they might address it in future trailers. Turns out they had made some improvements in design and offered to update my trailer. I was honestly only providing them with feedback but they jumped right on the fix and were great at communication during the process. I’m guessing it may have a lot to do with who you are talking to at Boatmate? By the way, I keep my boat on the trailer (in a garage) and have had absolutely no problems with it since the upgrade, which was probably done in 2011 or 2012.
