2019 PlanetNautique EZ Loader Trailer

I picked up the custom 2019 EZ Loader trailer for this year's PlanetNautique G23 today. Some of you may remember the concerns I voiced in this thread. So far, my new trailer doesn't seem to have any of the same issues as the one I borrowed. No electrical issues, no rough ride, etc.

The bow stop is completely different from the one on the trailer I borrowed as well. I really think the one I borrowed may have been set up for a pre-2016 G23, before the hull change. I haven't put my boat on this new trailer yet, but just looking at the bow stop, it is almost certain to fit on this trailer better than the one I borrowed.

I am really happy with the quality of the paint work. The bow ladder is very solid, and the steps at the rear are great. It also has an adjustable-height coupler -- I have never seen that before. Check it out!

When I went to hook it up to my truck, the jack wouldn't lift it high enough to go over my hitch ball. I was a little annoyed by that, but then we realized that the jack could be adjusted, and once we did that, it was able to lift the trailer more than enough.

Jeff - You and I talked at the Raleigh Boat Show. Did you add trailer brakes to this trailer? By the way, my own G23 is on the way finally!

Yes. This trailer has electric-over-hydraulic brakes, and they are awesome. I have been running electric brakes (instead of surge brakes) on all of my G23 trailers for a few years now, and I will never go back to surge brakes. These electric brakes on the trailer will stop the truck! They are great.

Can they be added after the fact, or should I be negotiating a different trailer from White Lake?

Well, it would be easier and less expensive to have them added when the trailer is being built. I am sure they could be added later, but you'd need a different tongue and all of the electronics to run the braking system, plus wiring modifications to make everything work.

WLM doesn't order electric brakes by default because some older trucks aren't set up to run them. Do you have a brake controller on your truck (or can you add one if not)?

I ordered a trailer with brakes. Should be at WLM by the end of April, which is when I am picking up the new G. Yes my truck has the controller so I should be good to go. Thanks!

What kind of paint is that it looks like it has a rough texture?

Fairly simple to switch a surge brakes to electric over hydraulic.

Assuming you already have surge brakes, you'll need a new coupler ($100), The brake actuator($600) and a brake controller ($300).

Most of this would be bolt on and a little wiring so something that can be done yourself or a couple hour labour.

Certainly cheaper to get the trailer with them but not hard to add later either.

I have a 2015 Yukon XL and am wondering if I should get the electric over hydraulic brakes to pull a GS22? I have a brake controller for a travel trailer already. Or is it not necessary? Thanks.

Adrenaline1 I would get it without thinking twice. Once you've had it, you'll never want surge brakes again.

I have my G23 on Gaston, and need to find a way to trailer it t Raleigh for a ceramic coat service.
Many suggestions or ideas (rent a trailer, companies that transport, etc?)
any help is great appreciated.
