Fix for banging / squeaking trailer springs

Did this last fall and am really happy with the results. Thought I might share so someone else can benefit.

My DHM 2 axle trailer sounded just awful....squeaked louder than a cheap bed frame in a whorehouse. (OK, apologies for that but you get the picture). Hit a bump and there would also be this nice loud bang to go with the squeaka squeaka squeaka..

I fixed the problem by pulling out every shackle bolt and replacing the (very) worn out poly bushings that shim between the spring/bolt/shackle. Sadly didn't take any pictures of the bushings I removed but they were worn through in many places.

Just used basic nylon bushings...none of those fancy bronze or $50 plastic bushings..as replacements and then made sure all the parts were well lubed with marine grease on assembly. Like these.

Wow. It's great. Should have done this years ago. Trailer now rides quiet and I no longer get those funny looks when driving down the street.
