2020 EZ Loader Trailer for G23

Picked up the new 2020 EZ Loader trailer for the 2020 PlanetNautique G23 today. Not quite as flashy as last year's trailer, but I still like it!

Are they still using oil bath hubs or have they moved to the newer Vault system or possibly something else? Oil bath was the craze 10 plus years ago and I have to say I never had a problem with mine and they were very low maintenance. My latest Phoenix trailer came with the UFP vault system.

I was able to load the boat onto the trailer for the first time today. It loaded easily and sits nicely.

I've got an 2016 EZ Loader built in late 2016 … presumably a 2017 model? It carries my 2018 G23 a few times a year. Was curious to know if the capacity has changed at all? I like several things about the EZ Loader compared to Boat Mate … spring loaded guide poles and tongue jack are my favorites. Mine is surprisingly only rated at 6,735# … compared to Boat Mate's 6900# … which is regularly complained about being too close to boat's weight. That new ladder is serious btw!

Jeff - See below post. Curious what you paid for the trailer in this post? Trying to figure out if its really worth selling or if we should just keep it and find a way to store it so it doesnt take up garage space but also does not sit out somewhere and rot. We should not ever need to trailer the boat as it sits on our dock year round and most, if not all the maintenance is done by our local Nautique dealer. They have a trailer to pull the boat if we ever needed it.

My .02 on having a boat and trailer.....

The short version, if you have it keep it.

The long version, IMO you'll never get what it will be worth to the next owner when you go to sell it. It'll be much harder to sell a "trailer boat" without a trailer and you'll have to drop the price considerably to move it. Unless the next owner is clueless he'll find out quickly (before the purchase) boat trailers are expensive and in most cases difficult to come by quickly. This will pooch your ability to move the boat easily and give the dealer an advantage in price negotiations should you decide to trade it in. Boat dealers know what their doing and will make money on every deal or be out of business quickly.

I've been around for a while and have seen dealers pitch the "you don't need a trailer" shtick several times over the years. Sure it's cheaper to get into the boat but getting out always seems to work out better for everyone but you. The dealer will have you for everything from maintenance to storage as you're now a captive customer and lord help you if you need to move the boat quickly for some reason. For some people with bottomless pockets that just don't want to be bothered with the inconvenient aspects of boating this is completely worth it and I know of several boats on the lake that are on this program. If you fall into that category that's wonderful for you and I can understand why you would consider pitching the trailer. If you're not and can find a place to store the trailer and possibly cover it with a tarp of some sorts I believe you'll be much further ahead of the game in the long run keeping it. But that's just my opinion, I could be completely wrong.

That is one serious ladder. I've seen them on pontoons but never really thought about needing them for launching a ski boat. I guess the surfboats are gigantic and you need extra help getting up.
