My boat sits on a Road Runner trailer. The prop guard scrapes when I back it into storage due to the ramp being to steep. Has anyone added skid wheels or a lift kit to their trailer? I was thinking of a 2 inch lift kit. What are the pros and cons to both? Any easy kits without fabricating something? Thanks for the help.

I strongly recommend against a lift on the trailer. If you do that, it will require backing the trailer much farther into the water when you want to launch the boat. So much so that you may have to completely submerge your rear bumper, etc.
Most people just add the prop guard rollers. They usually order them and have them welded on at an auto body shop or similar place.
The third option is to get two good-size boards and put those down on the path of the tires at the storage location to lift the trailer as you back it into place.
One last thought is to get an adjustable hitch for your truck, and lower it all the way down when backing into your storage. I lifted my SMP tandem trailer on my 89 Supra Sunsport one inch. The biggest problem was loading and unloading double pitched ramps the cross bar would always get hung up. Adding wheels on the prop guard would not help. Its been 20 plus years no problems so far.Comment

Thanks. I cannot imagine having any problems from lifting at my boat ramp. It is fairly steep and the boat floats way before I get close to the water. Researching the wheels. I can weld and fabricate something if needed. I do not have a source for them. Any ideas? Is there a weight requirement on the wheels needed?Comment

Had the same issue with my steep drive. Lifted my torsion axle tandem 2” 3 years ago and it works perfectly. No issues with ride and no issues launching.
