    2005 Trailer Restoration

Just thought i would share with you guys my trailer restoration. It not the most profession job, but it was done in about 18 hours, so not too bad considering.

If you are interested in doing the same let me know if you have any questions.

Only thing I would change is using PVC instead of plywood on the fenders. Did you use treated lumber on the bunks?

I did use treated lumber for the bunks, and looked into using HDPE for the Fenders, but it was too expensive for what i was willing to spend. I used a piece of 1/2" Marine Plywood. The coverage area is just over 5' long, and getting a piece that was long enough was not in the budget I had set. I set a goal of $250 to redo the trailer, and came in pretty close to that with the Paint, Wood, Fasteners, Carpet, and i put on a new winch.

I could say the same to you, LOL!! I should have it up in a few weeks. I am currently filling gouges, wet sanding, and then going to polish/wax the entire boat while it is off the trailer. I will put up some pics on that in a separate thread when I get it done. Hope to have the boat ready for the water in 3-4 weeks.
