Need help with a G23 Trailer

So I just had a new 2020 G23 delivered to the dealer from the factory, but the Boatmate trailer I ordered will be at least another 6 weeks until delivery (due to the trailer factory closing for Covid-19). The dealer has a trailer on his lot, but insurance precludes me from taking it off his lot to move my boat.

I was hoping someone on the forum may have a G23 trailer not being used somewhere within about 200 miles of Richmond VA that could potential assist with loaning me a trailer. Lakes that are within range are LAKE ANNA, LAKE GASTON, and SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE

I have plenty of boat towing experience (trailering a Mastercraft X2 to the lake nearly every weekend for the past 6 years) along with a Ram 3500, but would hate to lose 6-8 weeks of boating time due to no trailer.

If you think you can help please send me a PM as I am sure we could work out some sort of deal. Thanks

Are you saying the dealers insurance precludes this, or yours? If it is the dealer, I would call them on this. Dealers do stranger things than this all the time. They may not want you to use it, or may have other needs for it, but should be honest about it. Sounds like kind of a cruddy dealer to me IMO. You just bought at $200k boat and they need to be taking care of you - this is kind of their problem, not yours. I know with our local dealer it wouldn't have even been a conversation, they would have just called and said come get your boat, but here's the deal with the trailer.

Maybe post the dealers name, so others can avoid them. I would want to know if there is a dealer that doesn't take care of their customers.

New development is that the dealer has a trailer that he can “sell to me then buy back” once the new trailer arrives. Only rub is the trailer has no fenders or prop cage underneath. My only worry is blowing a tire on the highway and totally messing up the gel coat on the side of a brand new boat. Hence why I would prefer to work a deal with someone on a G23 trailer for a couple weeks that has the proper safety features.

You can buy trailer fenders. Might be a good compromise to get on the water.
