Anyone put a lift on their trailer to raise it up?

This is what I am dealing with. Inclines and hills are always tough to judge in pics though. But itÂ’s not overly steep. Truck and trailer are parked slightly uphill on the street so the back end of trailer isnÂ’t normally quite this low

That scrape mark on the aggregate is where the one roller caught and dug in. That was with an 8” drop hitch (I tow at 5.5” of drop). It was close to coming up I think...maybe 2x12’s would do it?

I don't think raising an inch will make too much difference launching. I would look at ways to alter the driveway (as stated above) maybe a couple boards placed in such a way as too make the transition just bit better. Maybe post a pic of the driveway??

Of course the really easy fix is to just get a big drop hitch for your truck and install that right before you back in. That'll lift the back of the trailer quite a bit.

That is what should be on the trailer from the factory. The prop guard on the G trailers sits really low. Seems like I would scrape about 50% of the time on parking lot / gas station approaches, etc. It seems like it is usually worse leaving than coming in for me. The metal rollers help some, but the prop guard still scrapes in some places.

I like that they are on the corners, would roll a little less violently, protect the front and back edge of the guard better and you can replace the wheel if needed.

Out of curiosity, is there a height difference in trailers with 18's vs 15's, or does overall diameter work out to the same? I have 15's and it seems to sit low.

Possible workaround while you figure things out - take the bottom at a 45-ish degree angle. Yeah, you'd have to cut over the grass for sure. but there might be just enough room between the mailbox posts if you set it up right.

With my trailer, if I come straight out of the driveway the prop guard drags big time. When I put a good angle on it, no scrape. I do have the benefit for a double wide driveway so I don't have the grass issue.

Hope this helps - I can see why you don't want to drag on that nice aggregate finish.

I haven’t even tried it straight on. I’m taking it at a 45 degree angle already. My 10” drop hitch will be here by the time I get back from the lake..will try that along with 2x12’s jus to be thorough...hopefully that does it

Agreed. That’s the plan, but unfortunately not going to happen this year as we just bought the boat. Hopefully next year it’s a moot point

I think this might be my only option. I had 4 2x12x6's and fiddled with them for an hour stacking, moving, layering, etc to try and ease the transition of the driveway...I still hit bottom with the rollers and couldnt make it up. So thats out...I have a 10 inch drop hitch coming today, so will try that, but the issue there is that will lower the front so much, I wont be able to extend the tongue jack to get it off the truck....would have to use a floor jack or similar to jack the trailer up enough to rotate the tongue jack down...what a mess..I never would of thought it would be this much of an issue..those delrin bearings and caster wheels look like the ticket....obviously they are stout enough to handle the weight of the trailer without issue...on the outside edges is the best place for them also

Well, after buying a new 10” dropper hitch and trying every combination involving 2x12x6’s (full length, cut and stacked), I couldn’t get it up. Got it up once, but the bow ladder then hit on the driveway. It’s hard to fathom that I can’t get it up but it is what it is. Thanks for all the recommendations...it is appreciated
