2013 G23 Transom Straps Rubbing on NSS

    Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone with the first era of G23s and Boat Mate trailers has this 'problem' or not. Essentially the transom straps are rubbing up against the NSS covers and is starting to wear the black paint & gel coat below.

Anyone else have this problem and have found a solution?

I don't have your rig but I was going to have a rubbing problem on my if I mounted directly to the trailer. I bought a set of these mounting brackets to provide a stand off from the trailer.....

robertsmcfarland it sits on the winch up front. Not sure how much further I could get it on the trailer if that's what you mean? Or do you mean physically removing the winch mount and welding it forward?

I do not have the same trailer, have a galvanized Continental bc we use in salt occasionally. It does not have the built in straps, but when I attach the ratchet straps up to the platform brackets they sit on the NSS covers as well so I bought some Sham-wows and cut them into smaller squares then cut a slit to run the ratchet straps through. When I tighten the straps I position the Sham-wow between the strap and the NSS covers/hull. No scratches or scuffs.

THanks trip33 I thought of using a microfiber to do something similar. I think I'll definitely use that approach at least until I figure out a permanent solution
