    Checked your brake pads lately?

This was the condition of the disc brake pads in my 2004 trailer...new to me last year. Found these when rebuilding the hubs. Was surprised how low they were....

    New pads for comparison.

That is unusual. Typically trailers don't get that many miles and don't take the beating with panic stop and such to end up with that kind of wear. I'd look real close at the calipers and checking my hub temp to be sure they're not dragging. Looks like they wore pretty even though.

I was surprised as well regarding the wear. My guess is the original UFP pad material is quite soft and wore over time. Interestingly, the pads in the UFP calipers (DB-35) cross into Kia Sephia front pads (MKD-649)...cheaper than UFP pads and available via my local auto parts store...so I used those as replacements.

Regarding dragging...I don't believe they were. I'm quite obsessive about the wheel bearings (been that guy broken on the side of the road...never again) and check hub temps, bearing end play and packing level quite frequently when on any tow over a few miles....all is good.

I'm gonna say that is due to caliper slide pins sticking due to corrosion

Right. I thought about that too but the pins are really clean and nice. And generally when you get a sticking caliper, one side is very worn compared to the other side. Go figure.
