Is anyone thinking about using the Tesla Cybertruck as a G tow vehicle. 14,000 lb tow limit. Guessing approx 150 - 175 mi range while towing around 10,000 lbs. 1000 lbs of torque.

I’m waiting for a better range truck. We drive Tesla’s for personal vehicles but the range would create an issue for trips hauling a boat. I haven’t been able to figure out how to charge a truck with trailer without unhooking your boat first at the Superchargers

That's an interesting observation - never had considered that angle.

There are apparently some superchargers that allow for “hooked up” charging although they are few and far between. The vast majority of my trips will be under 150 miles. I’ve placed an order for the truck so I guess I will find out and report back. They claim the body can take a 9mm hit without significant damage which might be a good thing considering the times we live in

I would think 150 miles would be ok but remember the range isn’t ever as good as they suggest. I’ve had a model s and x with 300 mile est range and I get range anxiety when I drive to my lake house 90 miles away. So at 180 miles round trip there isn’t much buffer. We just installed a charger there so we have some wiggle room. Not that it will be an issue for you but the range in winter is dumb. Fortunately I don’t drive very far in the winter with it. I thought the range on the cyber truck was much larger but I’m guessing wirh the boat it will go down fast.

I wonder if we will ever have the option to buy a Nikola??? The Hummer looks good too, just not going to be able to get one unless you are Jay Leno or Lebron james for a while, and they are spendy compared to the others.

I'll believe the Cybertruck when I see it, in person. Car companies these days, show a prototype saying it's a real vehicle, then you never seen it.

I ordered a Rivian. I’ll see how it pulls for fun but we will be using the dodge truck primary.

The Rivian certainly looks cool af. By far the best looking electric truck concept I've seen. I hope it lives up to the hype, because I think it's way cooler than the cyber truck.

I pre-ordered a Rivian. My towing is generally pretty short range but up and down some serious hills. I'm really interested to see what 900 ft-lbs of torque will do......
