    Trailer Tire Recommendations

Time to replace my trailer tires. I have a 2007 236 with a tandem axel EZ Loader trailer. The current trailer tires are Hankook Ventus AS size 275/45/R20 with load index 110 and speed rating V.
They have been fine. Lots of tread left, just getting up in years. We trailer about 80 miles round trip each outing so I'm looking for something as good or better.
Forgive my ignorance, but with this size of tire, are there trailer specific tires, or can I just match the size, load and speed ratings? Any recommended tire shops in Utah?

    Thanks for any advice.

I replaced my 2009 230's tires about 2years ago. I went with Goodyear Endurance. Made in the USA is that matters to you.

Everything I've read or heard is that the new Endurance tires are the best option these days. If I were replacing tires today those would be my choice.

After 6 years they must go regardless of how they look and the more you use them the less potential failure you will have over those 6 years.

Trailer tires are built differently to car tires. Use trailer tires.

I have always looked at what is needed, and if possible - go up one step in load rating if available in a quality tire... Just my .02

The tire shop says there arent any specific trailer tires for a 20 inch rim so you just use a light truck tire with a 110 load index.

I went up a load rating and those tires lasted 14 months. I'm not sure it helps and it may also hurt the ride quality.

Yeah, trailer specific tires normally don't come in the size you need for direct replacement. I have the same EZloader trailer with 20's and am in the same boat (pardon the pun!). If you decide to stay with your wheels I think the main thing to look at is load rating for replacement tires. I'm looking at some Kumho's rated at 2337 lbs for my replacements and apparently some of the trailer mfg's (boatmate, for one) use Nexen N3000's on their trailers due to their high load capacity. Altho, I think they usually are 18" wheels and not 20's.

                    Good luck with your search!
