Paragon Trailer

Just wondering what the experience is with Nautique trailers. Having come from Malibu the m235/40 came with a triple axle trailer with the boat. It appears that even with the paragon a trailer is an extra $15,000 MSRP. Can’t seem to find much info here. I know Malibu makes their own trailers. What about Nautique? Any other options out there folks recommend? I use it about twice a year to pull my boats inside in the off season.

Nautique does not make their own trailers, and hasn't since the early-90's.

Dealers can order a Boatmate trailer at the time of boat order through Nautique, but my experience with Boatmate hasn't been great.

I have been using Phoenix for the last couple of years, and I am very happy with them.

I see you have the same boat I’m getting (a 2022 g23 paragon). What trailer do you use and what is the cost? What do you dislike
about the boatmate and what do you prefer about the Phoenix? Thanks so much

I have experienced numerous issues with Boatmate trailers, from electrical (many electrical issues) to bent axles to axles being installed so crooked that the tires were shot within less than 1,000 miles, etc. I even had a friend who had a wheel come off of his Boatmate while driving. This was a new trailer!

I have always been a Ram-Lin trailer fan, but they stopped making trailers for Nautiques a few years back.

I used EZ Loader for a couple of years, and was happy with them for the most part, but they simply couldn't keep up with demand, and were taking WAY too long to ship new trailers, so a couple of years ago I switched to Phoenix. I have been very happy with them. You can see some pictures of my 2021 Phoenix that I am using right now under my 2021 G23. I like it so much I am ordering another Phoenix for my 2022 P23.

As far as cost goes, check with your dealer, or if they don't sell Phoenix, check with White Lake Marine.

We got the Boatmate triple axle and so far have been happy with it, but next time it goes in for service I'm going to have them fix the diamond plate on top of the starboard side tire fender as the glue has failed and it's lifting on one end. We don't use it much though as the boat stays on the lift most of the time, except currently as the Corp keeps letting water out so it's in the storage unit right now. We didn't opt for the "Paragon" trailer like you see in the pictures, just the triple G23 trailer in black with nice 18" wheels (spare too) and I think it was at or under $10k additional on the order. I did want the EoH brakes but suppose I didn't communicate that quite clearly enough during the ordering process and the trailer came with surge brakes.

EoH brakes are a must-have for me! They are SO MUCH BETTER than surge brakes with these heavy boats.

I agree. I got a triple axle Phoenix trailer as well. What gain do you use when braking downhill?

My brake controller is old and stupid. It just has a dial that lights up an LED brighter as it is turned up, so I can't say what setting I use. I generally have it turned up about 2/3 of the way when towing the G23. My 2005 diesel Excursion doesn't stop like it used to, so I run the trailer brakes a little higher than others might. The trailer brakes are so good that they stop the truck!
