How far forward boat sits on trailer (pics)

Recently picked up a Air 226, and have been wondering if the boat sits too far back. the front vertical anchor bar seems to be able to move, and based on the peeling of the grip tape underneath, I have a feeling it slid backwards over time. Should the boat sit this far back on the trailer, or it doesn't matter?

I would agree. I've personally never seen bolt on winch post that has stayed in place. I would consider figuring out where it's supposed to be and having it welded in place.

CarlitosAir, it looks to me that the roller needs to be a foot closer to the front of the trailer. It looks like you have plenty of room for adjustment, and the rust on the center tube is telling a story. I don't recall ever seeing a rudder hanging off the back of a trailer...
How does it ride at 65, seems like you would have too much weight on the rear of the trailer, better yet, what is the tongue weight, can you lift it by yourself?

Thanks for the input guys. I'll check the tounge weight, and bring my wrenches to the lake next time I unload to tighten the bolts at the bottom of the winch post after adjusting. They seemed loose which was what made me suspect this from the start. Thanks!

Agreed. I would slide the winch post forward till the bunks are almost even with the edge of the transom.
