    Boatmate trailer part help

Could anyone point me in the right direction? I’ve tried to reach Boatmate for weeks, leaving multiple voicemails and emails. No one answers or calls back.

I broke the jack on my 2013 Boatmate trailer for a 2013 SANTE 210. I just want to buy a replacement. While I’m at it, I’d like to recarpet the bunks. I want to be sure I order the right part and enough carpet.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

    thanks

get a fulton jack from amazon. I"m sure it'd actually be cheaper than the replacement.
Nautique Parts may have the carpet you need.

I have been down this awful road and would suggest going somewhere else. You can purchase a jack and bunk carpet online and avoid Boatmate's nonexistent customer service.

Something else to consider - I just replaced my bunks and went with GatorBak instead of carpet. No affiliation and it’s only been a month, but I’m satisfied so far. Not super-cheap but I bought it over July 4th and they had a special running.

E-trailer has freakishly great support and trailer hardware selection.

          Loved using them!

+1 for etrailer! Those guys have always treated me well and been extremely communicative.

For replacement trailer jacks... One of the Fulton F2 jack's would be my recommendation. Just be sure to check the bolt pattern on the existing mount to make sure it's the same. Dang these have gotten expensive.

              https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jac...413040134.html

On the carpet... The Gatorbac stuff looks intriguing to me but I haven't personally used it so I'll have to take the word of those that have as to there experience with it. Carpet on the other hand is something I've done quite a bit of over the last two years. This is my experience....

I've used the cheap Chinese junk from Amazon for the side bunks on my lift that will not see much in the way of stress like loading a boat on a trailer. As expected, absolute junk, You could see light through it when pulled on it to stretch it around the bunk to staple it. If I could have sent it back I would have but I needed the side bunks carpeted so I could get the boat on the water. Lesson learned, stay away from the cheap stuff for trailer bunks.

I used the CE Smith Deluxe carpet from Amazon for the BIL's lift side bunks last year. Wish I would have done this with mine but the cheap price on the other stuff got the best of me. Anyway this stuff was much better and installed much better as well. This would be a good choice for your trailer bunks.

              https://www.etrailer.com/Boat-Traile...ent=&position=

For the BIL's trailer refurbish project I did this summer that I posted on, I went with Cuda carpet. It's made from recycled plastic bottles and it's from a small business in the US. You can order direct from them and it's fairly inexpensive on the cost scale for bunk carpet from what I found at least. It was thick, installed well and the staples seemed to take a good bite into it. If I were carpeting another set of bunks tomorrow (please god no more bunks for a while) I would go this route again.

              https://www.cudapowersports.com/collections/bunk-carpet

As to how much you're going to need..... You'll need exactly, well actually you need exactly what your specific trailer is going to require. What I do is measure each bunk then add 2 feet. You could probably do a foot but in the grand scheme of things even at today's prices the carpet is cheaper that not having enough and having to buy another piece or not being able to complete the job that day, at least for me. So if for example you have 2 - 4' bunks using my method of carpet estimating you would need 12' of carpet. Yes, there is waste doing it this way but you can always cut off carpet, you can't glue it back on. It should go without saying but I'll say it anyway, you should have no seams when doing bunk carpet. Each bunk should be covered with a single length of carpet.

In addition to the carpet you'll need some stainless steel or monel staples and a good staple gun. I was using 1/2" staples for the longest time but ran out and had to run up to the hardware store for more. They only had 5/8" so I used those and my Arrow hand staple gun, had no problem sinking them fully into the pressure treated boards. IMO longer is better with carpet and bunks so that'll be my new standard.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your project.

If gatorbak curious, here's a thread.

I like it. Several firstborns to acquire. IMO, worth it if you plan to keep the boat for an extended period.

I have a dual-wheel Fulton F2 on mine. I'm sure there are better jacks out there (i.e. more expensive), but the F2 is pretty nice. They have different mounting options, depending upon your trailer.

I did have to replace the crank (damaged by previous owner), but it's nice that parts are readily available.

Just know you need to make sure the boat is fully secured on Gatorbak as it is slippery.

LOL. Every winter/early spring here, I see pics of guys with their fishing boats dropped onto the ramp concrete because they failed to keep their boat secured and their bunks were ice-covered from fishing the prior day.

Thank you, everyone. Always appreciate the knowledge shared here.

I ordered a replacement Fulton jack from etrailers and talked with GatorBak. Still considering it. They told me they will have a 20% off sale on 10/31.

Boy sales must really be good for them to make that statement and not offer it to you now. You'd think that if they're going to have a sale in 26 days they'd do a one off for you and sell at that price. I get the Black Friday kind of special deal thing but this is just bad marketing. If someone was on the fence going one way or another that 20% and the phycological aspect of getting a special deal that you have to pull the trigger on now would move most people to purchase. They just let a fish off the hook due to either bad sales training or poor policy.
