Steep boat ramp with a heavy G23 2023

    Hi all
need help. I will be using soon a very steep ramp to launch my new G23. I’m concerned and seeking advice on the best way to very safely tie the boat to the trailer (e.g. using Fulton straps etc) without hurting the finish of the boat. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I would be more concerned with being able to pull the boat out of the water at the end of the day. Your boat/trailer/gear will weigh more that your tow vehicle unless you have a super duty truck. A half-ton truck isn't going to cut it. https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...al-tow-weights

Thank you for the reply. It is a tractor actually that launch and pull out the boat.

dont unhook the bow of the boat until the boat is in the water.

I used a chain as a backup on my old boat. Just connect it to the bow eye when connecting the strap. As for getting the transom to sit properly on the trailer, just pull out slowly and make sure it settles properly.

Don't all newer trailers have the winch strap and a secondary short strap to the trailer? I would make sure both are secure so you don't park the boat on the ramp.

Yes, the trailer should have two hooks and straps, one on the winch and another short safety strap directly attached to the trailer, secure both as soon as you put the boat on the trailer and do not remove either until the boat is in the water. As long as your tractor can pull it, you'll be fine.
